MODEL BUILDER
"[Modelbuilder allows users to] create and modify geoprocessing models in ModelBuilder, where a model is represented as a diagram that chains together sequences of processes and geoprocessing tools, using the output of one process as the input to another process." (esri.com)
The model building process begins with the user inputting a piece of data then choosing a tool to act upon the data. The output of the effect on the data is then created.
Models can be as simplistic as "clipping" a city out of a county shapefile, but many can become very complex as the one on the left. (Click the pictures to magnify and see the details!)

The inputs need to have the correct
data type in order to run correctly!
After the data input, the model begins to run.
This is where the user learns if it was built properly!
As long as the model was built logically,
the analysis will be completed correctly!
